Our 2023 highlights
The first Skymetrix User Group
Last April, we held the first ever Skymetrix User Group in the beautiful city of Barcelona. 80 delegates from almost 30 airlines and aviation businesses came together to collaborate, network, and learn about our company’s product roadmap. There was a real buzz at this event!
Highlights included:
- Best practice fuel and cost management sessions run by customers such as DHL, Ryanair, Spirit Airlines and Deutsche Lufthansa
- Exclusive demos of our new products in development
- A delicious 4-course gala dinner with panoramic views of Barcelona as a spectacular backdrop.
It was so well received that this is now going to be an annual event – read on for news of our 2024 User Group.
Acquiring crew management specialist, Rainmaker
Last June, we strengthened our portfolio by acquiring Rainmaker Business Technologies, a specialist in aviation crew cost software. Rainmaker’s products help airlines get the most from their crew, by managing pay and expenses, increasing productivity and retention, and improving team performance.
With Rainmaker now part of the Skymetrix Group, we can offer airlines the broadest and most powerful unified suite of solutions from one vendor, covering all the major flight-related costs — fuel, crew, ground handling, airport, navigation, and catering.
Attending key IATA tradeshows
We took the Skymetrix brand all over the world last year and in the process, kept up with the latest industry developments and talked face-to-face with hundreds of airlines and aviation businesses. It was great to connect with other professionals working in this incredible industry. You might have seen us at the following IATA tradeshows:
- Aviation Energy Forum in May (USA)
- World Sustainability Symposium in October (Spain)
- World Financial & Passenger Symposium in October (USA)
- Aviation Energy Forum in November (UAE).

On the horizon in 2024
The launch of our Next-Gen platform
2024 is shaping up to be a very exciting year, as we prepare for the launch of our next-generation fuel and cost management platform in Spring.
This platform represents a huge step-change for us, our customers, and the industry, because it brings together the best features from our existing solutions, and leverages AI and analytics to deliver more powerful insights.
This means airlines will be able to optimize their cost management decision making across fuel, ground handling, airport, navigation, and route profitability – all from one powerful platform.
This industry-leading solution has been two years in the making, and it will enable our customers to achieve the next level of savings. We can’t wait to reveal it to them at the next User Group!
2024 User Group
After a really successful 2023 event, we’ll invite all our customers to come together again to collaborate, network, and hear the latest from the Skymetrix Group, including Rainmaker.
Planned to take place in Spring, this is where we’ll launch our Next-Gen platform. There will also be best-practice sessions on fuel, direct operating costs, and crew management topics, as well as plenty of time to share tips and socialize with others in the industry.
We’re excited about what’s to come this year, and look forward to working with our customers and partners again to help them achieve their goals. Here’s to a great 2024!
